The Process of Making Your Dream Wedding Dress
We know full well that your dream wedding dress is the most iconic dress that you will ever wear, therefore, your dress should be made to highlight your beauty, style, and authenticity.
It’s important to remember that in Jerahmie Tricia Bridal, your wedding dress will be made specifically for you — never tried on or worn by anyone else and tailored to fit to your body measurements. You don’t just buy a wedding dress, you will be collaborating with designer to create one design just for you.
Here is our step-by-step guide to designing your dream wedding dress.
Initial consultation
Design process always start with a 1 hour consultation with designer Jerahmie Tricia where we discuss your vision, styles, silhouette, fabrics, colour, your budget, and all the tiny details of your wedding dress. You can also try on different dresses available in our atelier to see what silhouette is flattering to your body type. This will help us narrow down your options and make sure we are on the same page. Jerahmie Tricia will also sketch the design in front of you.
It is important that you bring inspiration photos of your wedding dress to visually help us in understanding your design preference.
Timeline
Deposit
You will be require to secure a 50% deposit before we begin the process of making your wedding dress. As soon as we send the quotation of the dress and once you’re happy about it, we recommend you pay the deposit within 2 weeks. The reason comes down to our logistics and fabric sourcing. Since all our fabrics are outsourced around the world, shipping fee and currency exchange is constantly changing. If you delay the payment, you might end up having to pay more.
We also give discount to brides who want to pay the full amount :)
We recommend our bride to start the process of making their dream wedding dress with us 6-12 months before their wedding. The reason comes down to the wedding dress production. The construction of the gown is one of the most time-consuming part of the process. It can take from several weeks or months to create and perfect a wedding dress.
But if you have a shorter period, please be in touch with us.
Design process
The construction of the gown is one of the most complicated and time-consuming part of the whole process. It is usually start with the foundation of the dress such the corset and petticoat. Depending on a wedding dress design, sometimes, it can take hundreds of yards of tulle, individually cut by hand, just to form the base of the dress. Each part of the dress, from pattern to cutting the fabrics, down to its embelishments and embroideries, are all hand cut and sewn to guarantee precision and quality.
Fittings
You will be part of the process of making your dress. It usually takes 3-5 fittings to make sure we get the good fit of your dress. We appreciate if you bring your shoes and wear a nude (not white) undies or shapewear.
Please avoid wearing body foundation or tan lotion on your fittings.
Dress pick up
Once you’re 100% happy about your dress, we will steam and pack it safely in a garment bag. Depending on your preference, you can pick up your wedding dress a month or even 3 days before your wedding day.
We recommend you pick up your dress as closer to the date as possible to avoid any risks (specially if you have pets at home!).
